About Brenden
A highly credentialed business advisor, Certified Practicing Accountant, and licensed to deliver SMSF advice, Brenden is naturally intuitive and has a talent for seeing through the clutter to identify critical issues. He quickly evaluates risks and opportunities to get on with the job of implementing well-structured plans and achieving defined outcomes. Brenden helps clients to be successful.
His approach is straight-forward. Precise explanation of complex matters is indicative of his significant tax knowledge and business acumen, but also his regard for clients. Brenden understands that an ability to identify with a client’s objectives empowers quality decision making.
While his clients include SME’s, professionals and large businesses, Brenden regularly works with family groups.
Commonly comprising multiple businesses, multiple structures and entities, and across multiple generations, consulting for family groups is a specialised area of advice. In addition to a required depth and breadth of technical knowledge, working with family groups requires advanced communication and organisational skills. This allows Brenden to identify, understand and satisfy the needs of individuals within the group to deliver appropriate and seamlessly integrated outcomes in accordance with overarching objectives.
He has direct experience of the many pains and pressures felt by growing businesses. After being in partnership for more than 20-year partnership, the P+Y business is testimony to a well-articulated business plan, painstaking commitment to excellence and a resolve to engage a team of professionals who share their personal and professional values.
Committed to achieving best possible outcomes, Brenden collaborates with other professionals to offer consulting and advisory services including financial planning, superannuation and SMSFs, retirement and estate planning, borrowing strategies and debt management, business acquisition and succession.
Brenden enjoys strong professional friendships and is frequently rewarded with new business referrals from loyal clients. He understands that trust, not only rests on quality advice, but is earned through actions that include transparency and his steadfast commitment to always acting in his clients’ best interests. For Brenden, it’s about driving change to create a positive difference in his clients’ lives.
Personally…
Brenden was born in Brisbane and raised on his family’s stud cattle property in Barraba, Central NSW. Schooled in Armidale, he later attended UQ where he studied Commerce before returning to QUT to complete his Masters, majoring in taxation. He has since added numerous other qualifications.
Most of what makes Brenden tick comes from his rural upbringing. As a child in a busy family with multiple business interests there was always work to be done and new challenges to master. This has instilled in Brenden an excitement for learning, and a keen work ethic. It’s not all work and no play though. Brenden likes to relax by entertaining family and friends and playing and watching as much sport as he can fit in.
Married to Catherine, together they are raising two children, James and Amelia. An avid rugby fan he is a board member and treasurer of Brothers Rugby Club, one of Australia’s largest community sports associations. He is also a Life Member of Brisbane Irish Rugby Football Club where he played for many years.
